This could have been the best orchestra performance I ever seen my entire life. I mean like seriously, where could you see sixteen out of the best Korean pop songs performed live by an orchestra and performs this amazing rendition of each songs. Congratulation to Nanyang Polytechnic Chinese Orchestra for this amazing performances of Korean pops’ medleys. I am falling in love with this performance. I am putting my respect over the orchestra music more right now. In case you are lost, I will also provide the list of songs performed. I am always bias but I freaking love the 바래 (I Hope) medley so very much. The medley is perfect!

MNET Asian Music Award 2009 is over.
Congratulations to those who win - 2NE1, 2PM, KARA, Hong Jinyoung and the list go on and on.
Wonderful performances line-up (a bit bias, but that is my opinion ; don’t come and kill me because I enjoy everything though) and everything was fine.
I love 2PM’s performance the most because I am clearly missing Jaebum more and more lately.
The spotlighted empty space where Jaebum used to stand in Again and Again performance broke my heart.
And I am still ‘digesting’ the rap performance by the female rappers - quite confusing and not feeling it at all.

BUT,
One thing truly broke my heart.
FT Island did not win the Rock Music Award like how I expected.
Unfortunately, the award went to Boohwal.
Congratulation to Boohwal by the way.
I truly loved their song (and not to mention their vocalist).

This is surely devastating.
MAMA 2009 marked the first award show for 2009 in which FT Island was nominated with their new (though now, not so new member) Song Seunghyun.
I am pretty sure they totally want to win the award.
The boys must be pretty disappointed for not winning this award.
I know I am disappointed they didn’t win.
Strange how FT Island lead the vote poll in MAMA 2009’s website yet they lost.
But maybe I can’t read Korean well and couldn’t understand what the poll really meant.

I wonder how the boys feel.
How Seunghyun would feel for not winning the award with FT Island.
They were actually present at the award show minus Hongki who was away for drama's filming.
Look at how sad the four of them looked!
Seunghyun's dissapointment truly showed through his expression!
I am sad to watch this.
Though they looked HOT, but they were clearly dissapointed.

Even worst when the camera zoomed at Seunghyun when Boohwal was announced as the winner.
He surely looked as if he really wanted to win.
And Boohwal sat right behind them!
How cruel could that be?
They lost and they had to turn around and faced their sunbaes.
Aww ~ looked at how sad Seunghyun is, it hurts me!

It’s okay not to win.
At least they know they work hard and got nominated.
There will always be next time, boys!

As for the lighter part of the post,
Let’s enjoy Seunghyun and Jonghoon’s appearance on MBC Drama 식신원정대 (MBC Drama God of Cookery Expedition).
My favorite part of the show - where they sprayed some kind of sauce called 고삼차 into Jonghoon’s and Seunghyun’s mouth in which Seunghyun responded with a nasty yet cute “아프카크” and because I have no idea what that meant, I still found it amusing to see Jonghoon giggled when Seunghyun responded that way.

Fortunately it wasn’t kanari or else the boys will be dead due to its awful smell.

The show left me hungry.
Watching the two hot boys eating - they surely made meat looked so desirable.

Right, all that is left for me is to wait for episode 3 of SBS E!TV아이돌 막내 반란시대 (SBS E!TV Idol Magnae Rebellion) to be uploaded into YouTube because the preview looked promising.
I have to admit, this show is seriously funny.
Got to love the interaction between Seunghyun, Dongho of U-Kiss (my favorite magnae from other groups), Jinwoon of 2AM, T-Max’s Yoonhwa and Mighty Mouth’s Shori-J (he is hilarious).
I still laugh whenever I watched the part where Shori-J greeted Seunghyun and Jinwon with “brother from another mother”.
They are like real brothers.
The show really makes me laughed.
The segment where they rant about other artists while holding stand-ups of those artists truly is my favorite.
Can’t believe Seunghyun brought Kim Taehee’s stand-up board on the second episode!
Who would had thought Seunghyun is bad at that high jump thingy?
And him serenading the female guest with acoustic guitar *swoon* is just beautiful.

FT Island Nomination on MNET Asian Music Award.

Several days ago, K-Pop fans (including me) were surprised by the cancellation of the yearly event, MNET Korean Music Festival (MKMF).
It hit me big times because I am a big fan of that award show and had been waiting all year for it.

However,
MNET finally opened the website to MNET Asian Music Award (MAMA), to be replacing MKMF this year.
Yes, you heard me right.
No more MKMF but say hello to MAMA.

So I went to the website just now,
Knowing that the voting period is now opened until I don’t know when because my Korean is limited,
But I was surprised when I saw FT Island wasn’t nominated for the “Best Male Group Award” like how they got nominated last year in MKMF (and lost to Big Bang).
I searched for more nominations and realized,
FT Island had been nominated for Rock Music Award for their song 바래 instead.
They are competing against Boohwal (one of my favorite too), Seo Taiji (aww ~ the tough competitor), Jang Giha and The Faces (the weirdest band ever) and Cherry Filter (got to the love the vocalist).

Okay.
WHY IS IT FT ISLAND IS NOT NOMINATED IN “BEST MALE GROUP AWARD”?
I wonder why - they are a group and they are the YOUNGEST one among those rock groups they were nominated with.
It was surprising even SG Wannabe was nominated in the "Best Male Group Award".
Not fair!
Ah wait ~ even Lee Seunggi aren't nominated for the "Best Male Singer Award".
I am so hating this.
FT Island doesn’t even make much rock songs like the other nominees.
They are also competing for the “Song of The Year” award but well, since I am quite sure there are “other songs” which might win that one - I just kind of gave up.

FT Island is competing hard against Boohwal - with not many differences in the votes. But at least now they are leading and hope it will continue leading until the vote closes.

Wow, I can’t choose between the two.
I mean, I LOVE FT Island but I love Boohwal’s vocalist too (okay, I admit he is just so amazingly handsome).
But I want FT Island to win!
Please win!
They haven’t win any charts this year (and only GOD knows how heart broken I am to know many idol groups won charts except for FT Island) and winning this award might be the only chance for me to see my boys very happy.

Good news.
MAMA will be aired on Channel V throughout Asia (and yes, Southeast Asia including Malaysia is included but poor me who doesn’t have Channel V through my Astro).

Lee Seunggi's Comeback Performances on KBS Music Bank.

Autumn is here, and so is all the solo male singers of ballad!
I have always love Korean ballad - it always gives somekind of sorrow-feel to me each time I listened to it.

My favorite heodang (허당) from 1N2D have finally make a comeback!
OMG ~ I totally forgot about my five treasure island today and just thought about my Heodang Prince, Lee Seunggi!
I first felt in love with him with his first hit, 내 여자니까 and just continued to love him more now.
He finally makes his comeback with his 4th album, Shadow.

His first comeback performance was on KBS Music Bank, where he performed two songs, 면사포 (Wedding Veil) and 우리헤어지자 (Let's Break Up).
The first video embedded is the performance of 면사포, a song which if I am not mistaken was written by Psy, the same person who brought Lee Seunggi's 내 여자니까 not long ago.
Oh, Seunggi appeared with a guitar and nice black suit! He looked so handsome!
When I saw the band with Seunggi, I thought, wow, I wonder if Music Bank is going to bring back FT Island and Lee Seunggi for one awesome special stage like how they did two years ago. Ah ~ Beautiful thoughts.
The song is very nice, and I love it the first time I hear it. Well, yes, it's not as amazing as 내 여자니까, but it is still VERY NICE.
Finally, a good ballad from K-Pop.
The rythm is very nice and Seunggi's voice is as awesome as always.
I just missed some ballads in K-Pop (since the five prince of heart-breaking ballads I loved had cross-over into something more upbeat thus caused ballads to dissapear).
Nice song, but the song wasn't the promoted track from his 4th album, Shadow.
Overall, I like how he appeared with a band, hand-synching the guitar and looked awesome in that black suit.
I am just Seunggi-biased right now.

The promoted track of Lee Seunggi's 4th album will be 우리헤어지자.
The MV hadn't been released, just a 30 seconds teaser though and it looked nice. Well, very nice for a typical ballad since like my five treasure island, Seunggi seemed to be beaten out to death in almost all of his ballad MV as well.
Aww ~ floating stage! I am in love with it already!
If I am not mistaken (again) this song is written (or maybe composed?) by Kim Dahun, the person who also wrote FT Island's 바래 and Lee Seunggi's 결혼해줄래. He had just be my favorite composer/song writer.
I am NOT loving the long vest Seunggi was wearing though. That was a big NO! Stylist, throw that vest away.
The first time I hear this song last night, I don't really like it because it sounded as if it was easy to be forgotten. I thought it will be something more, well, extra-ordinary?
But when I watched him sang it live, it totally became my favorite track off his album.
The song totally blew me away, and I am totally falling head over heels on that song. It was very nice and very good, his voice was flawless and I love the song's rythm.
The only thing I don't really like was the "lie, lie, lie..." part.
I don't hate it, I just don't really like it.
But the song remained beautiful.
Seunggi is still my favorite solo male singer.

Lee Seunggi got the loudest female fan screaming for him when he sang ballad.
Haha, funny how the song is sad and a ballad but the fans are screaming their hearts out along the song.
Oh wait, did I hear fanboys too?

I hadn't take the time to actually listen to all of the tracks in his album yet.
However, I am already in love with 우리헤어지자 and 면사포.
I am now officially in love with several songs from Lee Seunggi's album, well, might just make that all the songs, especially the last song, which awkwardly, had one line from the lyric very similar (I mean, VERY SAME) to FT Island's 못난이 second rap verse. I found it interesting and mysterious.

Overall, it was a great comeback performance.
With Lee Seunggi now present in the K-Pop scene, it brought back more good quality ballad for autumn. Park Hyoshin is currently making his comeback too and I am in love with his song too.
I am just so happy there are so many solo male singers making a comeback, thus bringing back those good ballads and pushed away the autotune/melody destroyer songs by too many girls' groups.

I surely hope Lee Seunggi's songs will do well in the charts, with current charts dominated by too many girls' group and G-Dragon winning all charts lately.
His voice and his songs are just too good.
He deserves to win (well, all my favorite singers deserve to win).

20090826 FT Island & SHINee Dances on MBC 지금은 꽃미남시대.

I know I shouldn't be doing this kind of post during Ramadhan but I can't help myself to do so. As I wrote previously that FT Island will appear on MBC 지금은 꽃미남시대 (Right Now, Flower Boy Generation) and the episode where FT Island appeared was aired last night.

Here are some highlights of the show. Links for the full show are included at the end of the post.

Well, because there were a lot of talking involved, I couldn't understand half of the show anyway.

There was a part in the beginning where the FT boys were given coffee without sugar and it taste bitter. Minhwan's expression explained how bitter it was. Then the FT boys talked about anything they were not satisfied about SHINee (I think so). Minhwan talked about how SHINee's 막내, Taemin, stole his title as 가요계 막내 (Entertainment's Magnae) after SHINee debuted in 2008. He also said he was more handsome than Taemin. Seunghyun said something related to Key but I can't really understand it, which caused Key to be angry and tend to throw the coffee jug on the table before he acted cute. Jaejin talked about Key too. Jonghoon however, told about Minho being handsome. Maybe he was jealous?

Then again, FT boys tell about their favorite girls' groups' members. Minhwan chose Sandara Park (2NE1) again. Seunghyun chose Lee Juyeon (?) of After School (in which I thought Hongki liked her, not Seunghyun). Jaejin chose the whole KARA while Jonghoon chose Kang Jiyoung (KARA). Jaejin and Jonghoon's rendition of KARA's Mister's dance were epic fail but totally cute!

SHINee & MC Myeongsu told that without Hongki, FT Island couldn't performed their title song, 바래 but they insisted that they could sing the rap part instead so Seunghyun did the job along with the other three boys. Key immitated Seunghyun (so cute) and MC Myeongsu did too but it was bad.

Later there were a scene where FT boys talked about their members and Jonghoon told how he was irritated by Seunghyun because he often acted cute (aegyo) at him when he was tired. The act they showed was so cute! Seunghyun's aegyo is AWESOME. Jonghyun and Onew were irritated by Seunghyun's aegyo too. Onew even tried to throw the bicycle at him. So the hyungs agreed the magnaes shouldn't disturb them when they were tired. Jonghyun exposed that Key did the same to him too so in the end, they agreed that Key and Seunghyun were very much alike.

Then they reveal some surveys which I don't understand at all but there was one survey in which from 3rd place until 1st place were owned by FT Island. Only Seunghyun's name hadn't been mention in the survey. There are several more interesting parts which I didn't want to write.

But the last part is the best! They were supposed to show their talents so Jonghoon danced to Brown Eyed Girls' Abracadabra. He did okay, for someone who isn't a dancer of course. He even took off his jacket. Seunghyun joined in but he was, well, he isn't born to dance. His movements were awkward but cute. Everyone burst into laughter. I had never seen MC Myeonsu laughed so much. Seunghyun failed in doing the turning part. Jaejin voice immitation parts failed too and he admitted he didn't have much talents. Seunghyun revealed his talent to do Harisu's voice immitation and he did the screaming part. OMG ~ that was surprising! Everyone laughed, even MC Myeongsu almost rolled on the floor, laughing. Minhwan did his almost-famous burning orang utan immitation. He was so cute.

Key did a three part girls' groups' dances. He did Girls' Generation's 소원을 말해봐, KARA's Wanna and Brown Eyed Girls' Abracadabra. He did very well. Jonghoon showed his own KARA's Wanna dance but it was still awkward. Then everyone danced to Abracadabra. Still laughing at how Seunghyun did it. Key is the best! They did a dance battle; Key VS. Jonghoon & Seunghyun. But still, he owned that dance! Jonghoon did good and Seunghyun caused me to laugh so much! Seunghyun danced and did the Harisu's screaming immitation.

In the end, the boys gave their speeches, wishing SHINee good luck and Minhwan even asked permission whether he could call SHINee as his friends. Jonghyun said okay. Seunghyun had an encore of Harisu's screaming immitation before they continued with the Abracadabra's dances altogether.

Wow ~ that was a very fun show, especially for fangirls. Full of FT Island and SHINee goodness. Whoever wanted to see the different sides of the boys really need to watch this show. I am replaying the last part of the show like crazy, especially Seunghyun's screaming part and their awkward dances.

20090825 A Story of a Fanboy.

My nephew, Amirul Akmal, aged 5.

Remembered how I always wrote that my nephew, Amirul, is a fanboy of FT Island? Well, recently, he saw me watching the performance on SBS 인기가요 where FT Island performed Fire (2NE1) and Pretty Girl featuring KARA and he watched it along with me. Couldn't believe Amirul will really enjoyed it and he loved Hongki's palm-tree hair inspired by Sandara Park even more.

Haha ~ Amirul and his own palm tree hair. Yeah, I know he should be called Sandara Park's fanboy instead because the hairstyle was hers but he wanted me to do it to his hair because he saw Hongki did on his. He didn't even knew who Sandara Park was.

See, I told you my 5 years-old nephew is a fanboy of FT Island. He first watched Heaven Part 2 MV, and he kept watching it everyday until I got annoyed to use the laptop in front of him. He may not understand the Korean language but he told me that the MV was sad. Believe me, a 5 years-old knew that Jaejin died in the MV and told me the taxi's driver who killed him was BAD.

Soon, he was singing Heaven as if there was no tomorrow. He kept repeating the chorus part and eventually, he got some phrases in Korean right. The photo did him no justice because Amirul, my nephew is seriously good looking and I ended up calling him "Little Hongki" and after that, he insisted that he wanted to grow up and be like Hongki.

He really liked being compared to handsome Hongki and his mother liked it too, because obviously, my elder sister had a thing for Hongki during the Heaven short promotion. With his hair still black ; yeah, my elder sister had a temporary crush on Hongki.

He also learnt how to sing 나쁜여자야 but he didn't quite mastered the phrases well. He often laughed at how my father altered the lyrics comically. He watched KBS World's Music Bank with me and often asked when FT Island is going to appear.

Recently, he had been into the song 바래 so much, he already knew how to sing it. He kept watching the MV through my mobile phone and laptop, and told me to style his hair like Hongki's hairstyle. Thank GOD he didn't ask me to dye his hair orange or else his mother is going to kill me.

Ah ~ one more good news, my CROSS & CHANGE finally arrived. It looked amazing, not like how I expected it to be. GOD blessed the delivery boy who sent it to my house yesterday even during the fasting month. I am so happy. I am a very happy fangirl.

My nephew had became a fanboy, all because of me. He became the male version of me. Amirul, sorry! I never knew you would actually like FT Island like your aunt here. Haha, an absolute fanboy and he is just 5 years-old.

The Worst Trip Ever || Day Three (Final)

Day Three ;; Sunday 16th August 2009

The worst day is about to come, haha.

Since there were no more ceremonies left to attend, we woke up a bit late that morning, probably around 8.00 a.m. to 9.00 a.m. and I was surprised to know my dad was still sick and worst, he refused to talk to any of us. It was very depressing whenever he felt sick. My mom told us to just pack our things, since we all agreed to go back to Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.

After we finished packing our things, my mom asked my dad to go and have shower, but instead, he pleaded angrily, causing my younger sister and I to be terrified. My parents argued, and it was worst than before. They kept yelling at each other until one point, my dad left the bed and went into the bathroom. My mom snatched the car key and took along all the bags with her, saying that she will wait downstairs after she arranged those bags inside the car. She called one of my cousins to come and drive our car for us since my dad was still sick. I went downstairs to help her, leaving my younger sister alone with my dad.

My mom was very angry after that argument. She was pissed off. Several minutes later, one my cousins who stayed at a nearby hotel was dropped off by his family to drive our car for us. That was when I realized I should really learn how to drive and get my license. Anyway, we checked out from the hotel and went to my aunt's house again for breakfast. After that, my dad and mom argued again, until they reached one decision. My dad will be inside my youngest uncle's car while my cousin will drive our car as we went back to Kuala Lumpur. As long as we reached Kuala Lumpur safely, my mom didn't care about it anymore.

After several hours consisted of more arguing, we finally left Mersing and headed back to Kuala Lumpur. We went through the same harsh roads from Mersing to Kluang until we reached Kluang about 2 hours later. The biggest problem was that my mom, my younger sister and my cousin all suffered stomachache, probably from what they ate during the wedding ceremony and we kept stopping for toilets along the way. After we reached Kluang, we had lunch despite the heavy rain and headed for Ayer Hitam, a place which was famous for its ceramic products and other things.

Arriving at Ayer Hitam, it was still raining. But we went crazy over shopping since stuffs sold there was way cheaper than the stuffs sold in Kuala Lumpur. My mom bought a huge basket for my elder sister and two handbags for herself, while my dad bought three pillows with Upin & Ipin characters on it for my nephews and niece and a traditional weapon for accessories called a "sumpit" (my dad is an avid collector of traditional weapons). My cousin bought a huge stuffed strawberry for his own niece while my youngest uncle's family bought mainly flowers and vases. Our cars were so packed, I was forced to place some bags my mom bought on my laps throughout our journey back to Kuala Lumpur.

It was raining heavily when we reached the highway, leaving Kluang. I was suffocating caused by too many things inside the car, my mobile phone's battery died, our car's radio won't work and my mp4 wasn't properly charged so I was scared it might went off anytime. It was such a pain in a butt even during our way back. I couldn't say much or sing loudly as I always do inside the car since my cousin was driving (see the attached photo, my cousin is a man, aged somewhere in his 20's) and I wasn't comfortable with him inside our car.

In pain, I tried checking my Twitter for updates from those I followed and adding into my frustration was when I knew FT Island didn't win Mutizen Award. I prayed hard that they win it at least once after 2NE1's three wins. I was so dissapointed, I felt asleep after cursing at my mobile phone alone for about 30 minutes.

We stopped several times along the highway and we finally reached Kuala Lumpur at 11.00 p.m. We headed towards Tesco Ampang where my dad will drive our car back as my cousin will be taken home by his elder brother, my other cousin. We waited for about 15 minutes and after we said our proper goodbye, my cousins left, as well as my youngest uncle and his family. My dad who seemed to be much better after not driving at all drove us back home.

Exhausted, we managed to get our bags out from the car as soon as we arrived home past midnight. We changed into our pajamas and still, my parents weren't talking to each other. I ignored both of them since my body was aching like crazy and watched a late night movie with my younger sister, since she won't be going to school on Monday.

It was the end.
My parents were still not talking and I hated it.
Thanks to Mersing, their good relationship had been ruined.
I swore I won't go there anymore.

20090811 FT Island to Appear As Cameo in SBS 스타일 [Photo Updated]

So, anyone remembered FT Island's cameo appearance in SBS 온에어 (On Air) as themselves attending an award party and also specially appearing on KBS 못말리는 결혼 (Unstoppable Marriage) to support Lee Jaejin's character in that sitcom?

Well, if you have fun watching FT Island appearing on TV dramas even for a short several seconds or even without lines, be sure you are not missing SBS weekend drama, SBS 스타일 (Stail) airing every Saturday and Sunday. It was reported yesterday in Korea that not only FT Island, but 2PM, 2NE1 and two actors, Kang Jihwan and Cha Yeryun are going to appear as cameos for the sixth episode of this weekend drama. The mentioned celebrities (including FT Island) are going to appear in this drama for an event of celebrating the 200th issue of a fashion magazine (according to DramaWiki, the magazine itself was named as Style) where the main characters of the drama worked in. The sixth episode will air on 16th August.

If you asked me about the drama itself, well, I hadn't watch it all after it replaced SBS 찬라한 유산 (Shining Inheritance)'s time slot. I am still in love with that drama but from what I read and heard, SBS 스타일 is somehow considered as Korea's The Devil's Wears Prada, because it involved a story about a young women who worked in a magazine where she found her boss a bit scary. I think so. I should go and watch some episodes first before I could say that.

Back to FT Island, this will also marked Song Seunghyun's firsta attempt in appearing as cameo in a TV drama. The rest of the boys, including Wonbin had done it before for SBS 온에어 and even had a whole episode of KBS 못말리는 결혼 involved about them (FT4 acting as bad boys, trying to get SNSD's Yuri and Sooyoung's attention by chasing them around). So basically, I am excited to know whether the boys and the rest of the cameos mentioned will actually have lines to be said or was it just like in SBS 온에어 where they just walked on the red carpet and was never seen again. With three boys of FT Island already in the acting field, and Jonghoon was already experienced in appearing as cameo, I think FT Island will do well. Among the mentioned idol group, FT Island (except for Seunghyun) was also the most experienced idol band to appear as cameo for this drama because they had done it before. Well, doesn't Seunghyun said he likes acting? This will be like an exposure for him too.

I want to thank SBS for including FT Island in the cameo list, though. The boys really need to appear on TV more, not just on variety and music shows. They have to have their chances to shine as talented celebrities, not just singers. I can't wait to watch it, so good luck to FT Island and good luck to both 2PM and 2NE1.

I basically am more excited and in the same time, curious about 2PM's acting skills.

Aww ~ the five boys looked so handsome. Seunghyun is HOT with that black hat but what is wrong with the manskirt? Are the stylists trying to ruin his image or what? Still not digging Jaejin's hair. Don't tell me he likes it because I think nobody likes it. I got nothing to say about Minhwan except that I don't like his outfit. Hongki and Jonghoon are mighty fine! They are going to appear as cameos in those outfits? Ah ~ I really can't wait!

FT Island's Fire & Pretty Girl (feat. KARA) Rock Versions Performances on SBS 인기가요.

AHHH! Please, let me scream because I am totally CRAZY and happy right now! Just watched performances from SBS 인기가요 on YouTube and I must said, this week's SBS 인기가요 was the BEST music show I ever watched this year! OMG ~ I am still screaming when I wrote this, and I swore I heard my dad knocked on my door telling me to calm down. The best summer special performance on SBS 인기가요!

My two favorite groups, FT Island & KARA finally combined together to make one awesome short performance! Aww ~ it was worth the wait! I can't express much with words, because half of my excitement had been spazzed out to my younger sister just now. There were many more special performances but nothing could be compared (forgive me for my biasness here) to FT Island's rocking special performance.

Their image was totally about rock band boys! But I was laughing so hard when I noticed Hongki got his Dara 's palm tree hairstyle! Gosh, that was hilarious. The hairstylist must had a crazy time applying that hairstyle on Hongki. I also noticed Jonghoon and Jaejin got tiny ponytails on each of their heads too. That was just weird, but in the same time funny and cute. Thanked GOD nothing happened to Seunghyun and Minhwan's hair. I forgot to mention how HOT Seunghyun looked in this short special performance. I don't know why but he got this charm about him which made me squeled. He was so handsome. All the boys looked amazing, and my younger sister was drooling over Jonghoon.

The special performance from FT Island started with their own rock rendition of 2NE1's first hit, Fire. I have no idea they were performing this song in their own rock version! OMG ~ I swore the rock music sounded so awesome. The guitar riffs heard were totally incredible, and not to mention the amazing bass line! They must had recorded the rock music before. It sounded so cool! I can't believe Seunghyun took over CL's rap part! He surely changed the "CL" part into his own name. Did he said "I go by the name of Seunghyun of F&C..." ?? I loved the way he pronounced those short English's lines. He sounded so sexy (?) though his English was pretty messed up! I also loved how they kept the 2NE1 name in the beginning, as a sign of respect (no matter if FT Island is for sure a senior to 2NE1). Hongki's voice suit this rock version so much! He done some mistake with the lines and stuck his tongue out during performance, so CUTE! And when Seunghyun started to sing, I screamed again. His voice sounded so awesome! His image made him looked like the ultimate bad boy, my HOT bad boy to be precise. His voice blended in with Hongki's voice very nicely! I am glad they let Seunghyun sang instead of Jaejin for this performance because he completely made Fire sounded so awesome! Haha! They totally made me wanted to hear the full version of Fire in rock music! They made the song sounded COOL! I am so in LOVE with FT Island's Fire rock version! I just wished it was longer.

They continued the special performance with KARA's Pretty Girl in rock version but since KARA already released their own Pretty Girl School Rock Version in their previous mini-album, I wasn't expecting much. But the beginning was altered and it sounded awesome. When KARA appeared from behind the curtain, I was going crazy. The girls looked awesome, especially my two favorites, Nicole and Seungyeon. How sweet, the girls started the song along with Hongki as they made their way towards their MBC Idol's Army's partner. Jonghoon with Hara, Hongki with Jiyoung, Seunghyun with Seungyeon (I loved how this couple names rhyme for some reason). But because Minhwan was drumming at the back, Nicole stood next to Hongki instead. Aww, no Min-Cole moments! Gyuri who was partnered with MC Boom on the show partnered with Jaejin instead since Jaejin wasn't included in the MBC Idol's Army before. The fans, probably Primadonna & Kamilia combined together were singing together with the two groups, so loudly! Unfortunately, I can't hear KARA voices much in the performance, probably because Hongki's voice overshadowed their voices, considering the song's range must had been lowered to suit Hongki's voice. Since I had also heard Hongki (and everyone including Wonbin except Seunghyun) sang the male version of Pretty Girl, I was more excited about their chemistry on stage since FT Island had never been partnered with any female singers, especially a group on stage except for Younha before. They made several random moves from Pretty Girl and it was all cute. The boys looked so happy performing this song with the girls. The way they dressed looked almost similar ; rock boys, rock girls. I loved how Seunghyun and Seungyeon looked at each other and the camera caught their short (very short) moments together, and it looked as if they both enjoying themselves together, despite the age differences. Jonghoon and Hara were enjoying themselves too. Anyone spotted the matching pants they wore? Couple pants, perhaps? I can't believe how suitable Gyuri looked with Jaejin. Jiyoung showed so much cuteness with Hongki and I wished Nicole will run towards Minhwan and showed some Min-Cole love, however, there wasn't any.

They also performed 바래 separately, and I am in love with what they were wearing. The theme was green and silver and I totally wished I could have Seunghyun multi-color stripey shirt! He looked so cute (from bad boy to cute boy?) Hongki with tie, OMG! All of them looked awesome and I must said, the stylists were really making the boys looked hotter nowadays with the great improvements with their outfits. Once again Hongki nailed those high notes but I still can't understand why they must performed the chopped and shortened version of 바래. I am missing Seunghyun's first rap nowadays. How cute to see Hongki rapped along with Jaejin and Seunghyun during the last rap part. Overal, it was nice to see the boys in green (my favorite color) and looking all energetic. Must be because they were given a chance to sing along the five girls of KARA before. Haha, just kidding!

Great show! Congratulation to SBS 인기가요 for winning my vote for the best summer special music show! I totally loved all performances, not to mention MC Mong dancing to SNSD's 소원을 말해봐 with SHINee & 2PM members. Everything was totally COOL, but the most cool performance was still be FT Island's special performance for sure!

20090717 Time To Express Myself

This post is for me to express my hidden anger towards someone, or perhaps, a bunch of people out there who kept making me felt slightly irritated, and highly angry most of the time.

I read some comments, on some webpages, about FT Island. They kept saying that Hongki would better be a solo singer since the other four members only played instruments, and most of the time, they just hand-sync on stages, and that the four members didn't have any roles in FT Island.

I admitted, Hongki received most of the attention (and the love) because he debuted years earlier than Jonghoon, Minhwan, Wonbin, Jaejin and Seunghyun did. He was a child actor anyway. That is why his fanbase is bigger.

Another thing, don't ever say Jonghoon, Jaejin, Minhwan and Seunghyun (even including Wonbin) never do anything in FT Island except for hand-sync their guitars and drums. Korean music shows DON'T ALLOW them to play LIVE! They do want to play live (go and look for their shows from two years ago, you'll know how much they wanted to play live) but live music shows didn't have the time to place those amplifiers and speakers and those wires on stage. FT ISLAND DO PLAY LIVE, especially on showcases and their concerts, so stop saying that the other members except Hongki did nothing but being a backup band for Hongki. They sang too, go and listen to their albums (both Korean & Japanese singles), and you'll realized that the other members sang too!

I am so pissed off. Even my best friend questioned FT Island's real talent (she's a big fan of Big Bang), kept complaining about FT Island's typical ballad when I never even once complaint about Big Bang (seriously, I think Big Bang is a pure music genius!). Just wait until one day I got her to watch Rock Prince DVD or First Island DVD with me. Even my parents (who used to hate Korean Pop) loved FT Island, saying that they are different. That's the main point, they are a band, they are different. They DON'T dance!

FT ISLAND IS NOT A DANCING BOY GROUP.

They are a band. If they were ever born as artistes in Malaysia, they could seriously be successful because most Malaysian loved bands (look at Hujan, Meet Uncle Hussain, Sixth Sense, etc.) because our dancing boy groups' era had ended in late 90's (remembered KRU, 4U2C). But because they are artistes from Korea which is famous for their non-stop debuting dance groups, FT Island is always underrated.

Don't say Hongki should do solo or the other members didn't play any role in FT Island at all. Show the five members and the one member who had left your love. FT Island is a band, a group of young boys (two are a year younger than me while the other one is two weeks younger than me) who played their own music, you know it even when you can't see it.

I am done with my rant.

Portfolio Exam

So today I went to college to sit for my portfolio exam, in which I don't really understand why I should take it at the first place.
Got up at 8.00 a.m. and left the house at 9.00 a.m., thanks for to my super cool dad who dropped me right outside of the college's building.

So, I met another new classmate, probably named Mellisa (well, didn't quite hear her name when she said her name though, sorry new classmate!), and she is also super nice, and she didn't take Arts for SPM too, because she was in the Science Stream, just like me and we sat next to each other.
We headed to the exam class, just to meet our Drawing Fundamental's lecturer, Mr. Tang who seemed to love to sing, and a senior, whose name I don't know but surprisingly, he is a Malay.
We took our seats and waited for the exam to start, which got postponed for 30 minutes due to this one Chinese boy (who awesomely used Lollipop song by Big Bang & 2NE1 as his ringtone) coming late.

Surprisingly, the exam required me to do two things ; one was to copy all those italic alphabets contiously, each must be written in two sides, left and right. It got my hands cramp, due to the writing of 56 alphabets non-stop and the ultra cold air conditioning in that drawing lab.
The second question was the hardest part - I have to sketch two characters of Upin & Ipin like how it was sketched on the question paper by the lecturer on an A3 paper, completed with the sketching, shading, shadowing and stuffs like that.
When I saw the two seniors who also took the exams with us, I became scared. They are trained in doing stuffs like that!

So the exam went for 3 hours, started at 10.30 a.m. and I managed to end at 1.10 p.m.
I sent in my papers and it got marked right at that time but before me, there was this one Chinese girl who did very well with the alphabets thingy. She got almost full mark while I ruined my first page by getting lots of 0.
But when the lecturer saw my drawing, he said that it was good, perhaps because I worked twice hard on the shading, until all my fingers were smeared in pencil's traces though to me it looked like a piece of crap and got all messed up.
Yeah, I used some tecniques I saw on TV and my friends did - and it paid up.
I got full mark for the drawing, but I screwed up with the alphabets again.
So in the end, I ended up with 91/100 marks and I was also the first semester one's student to left, after the two seniors left of course and I felt bad I left my new found classmate alone!
Sorry new friend!

It was quite thankful, knowing I could do it if I worked hard on it.
It was hard to draw on a drawing table, slightly slanted and the paper was fixed with tapes - I am not used to draw in that condition.
But I am thankful I did it.
I just hope I could better next time.
I heard from the seniors that we'll have to draw on large scale during our semester two.

On the other hand, another great news, my Rock Prince DVD had finally arrived, completed with the poster.
No, I didn't order it from YESASIA, I ordered it through a website and paid up through bank-in which cost me about RM127 including the shipping and courier fees (which was way more cheaper than ordering through YESASIA and had to pay up in USD) and that explained why it came so damn late.
Anyway, even my mom hyped up about that DVD, we watched it together like crazy fangirls.
