Ah ~ those hard times, the long period of doing non-stop revision and stuffs, I am glad I am done with it.
SPM is Malaysian-version of 수능 (Suneung) or the college entrance exam which Korean students took last week, including FT Island’s goat bassist Lee Jaejin.
If they took theirs at the age of 18,
We took ours at the age of 17 because Malaysian students graduated one year earlier than Korean students.
Funny how Jaejin and I are at the same age yet I am already in college and he is still in high school.
Students studies hard for SPM to get the excellent 10A or 9A.
Some target more than just 10 subjects to score, depends on how many additional subjects they taken up.
Unlike the Korean college entrance exam which took only one day,
SPM took a whole month long.
Starting from 18th November to 16th December 2009,
Students who are born in 1992 (meaning age 17 years-old, Seunghyun and Minhwan's age) are going to sit for their exams on weekdays, one subject per day according to what they studied in high school.
All students will have 5 mandatory subjects to take,
And another 4 or 5 additional mandatory subject to be taken depending on what stream they are in like me, I was in the Science Stream so I took up the 5 mandatory subjects of Malay Language, English, Mathematic, History and Muslim Studies along with another 5 additional mandatory subjects for Science stream’s students which are Biology, Chemistry, Physic, Additional Mathematic and English for Science and Technologies.
I scored averagely - not good enough to enroll government’s university so that was why I enrolled private ones.
You should just go to Wikipedia if you are interested to know about schools system in Malaysia.
I am bit late to wish them good luck.
I was supposed to do this yesterday but I was bothered by the Samsung Corby matter.
So, for those seniors in high school who had been sitting for SPM since yesterday,
Good luck!
I got some juniors of mine currently working hard to get good result now.
I hope they are doing fine because they cheered up for me when I sit for my SPM last year.
Scary times I must say.
I couldn’t open the textbooks after I am finished with the exam each day because I am scared of the mistakes I might do.
The sleepless nights on weekdays - exhaustion!
Get enough sleep if you could.
Eat well.
Get all those stationeries ready before sitting for the exam.
Get all your exam pass and ID card ready too.
Take care of yourself and for those who are taking SPM during the heavy flood, be strong!
When the result came in next year in March, it will be worth the hard work you do.
Don’t be like me, haha!
I don’t really do well in mine but I am proud because at least I got more than one A in my result and some subjects’ grades improved way better than during my monthly tests.
High school seniors, you’ll taste the sweetness of independence after this grueling exam end next month!
You’ll have all the time in the world to work or to have fun (like me!)
우리 후배들, 화이팅!
Students of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Taman Kosas (SMKTK) who are sitting for SPM… Amira and her friends, those girls I can’t remember their names, GOOD LUCK!
No matter how you hate SPM (like I did), it will determine your future!
Work hard to get 10A and if you can’t, just work hard and you’ll be happy!
You’ll be missing these memories of SPM once you left school.
Ah ~ my younger sister will sit for her SPM next year.
And for those who are chosen for the National Services or Program Latihan Khidmat Negara (PLKN) after SPM ends, don't be sad!
I am fortunate I wasn't chosen last year.
Just a good idea from this forgotten senior of yours, go and hang out with friends once you are done, to be better, go and hang out right on the final day of the exam like how my friends and I did.
We had a blast!
화이팅!
