Everything looked delicious when we were hungry.
Ah ~ this post wasn't supposed to be up so late. I was supposed to post it yesterday, but I was too tired last night. So yesterday, Saturday 29th August, my family (including my elder sister and her husband and two sons and my elder brother, except his wife and his children) gathered together along with my mom's family for breaking our fast together at Nelayan Restaurant, Taman Tasik Titiwangsa.
Nelayan Restaurant is quite a famous place in Kuala Lumpur, well known for its steambot specilities. So my family and the rest of my mom's family, my aunts, my uncles, my cousins, everyone gathered together for a huge family event at 7.00 a.m.
There was about 30 people of my family there at the restaurant. I got more than than, but half of my mom's family couldn't come because they had other plans. Such a pity but it was already very loud to have 30 people gathered together. My mom's family is different from my dad's family. They were more loud and sporting, and I got along with everyone nicely, even those who were in their 30's unlike how I didn't get along with my dad's family.
So basically the restaurant's food was served as a buffet, so I stayed at the table with my elder sister and her two sons while everyone else went to take the food served. There were many kind of food, seafoods, various kind of rice, noodles, and almost everything. Since all of us were hungry because of the fasting, we took almost everything that was served.
Inside the restaurant, my mom's family including my family took up to three huge round tables. We sat closed to each other and it was a very loud moment, with a lot of laughter, shouting, cracking jokes, teasing each other. Gosh ~ it was a very LOUD dinner!

He was all alone without his wife & children who were away at his wife's family house.
Yesterday marked a year since my family went to Nelayan Restaurant. Last time we when was last year, during my mother's birthday. It was hard to get a reservation in Nelayan, unless we called and reserved a week earlier. It was very thankful that we managed to get three tables, thanked to my cousin, Kak Linda who did all the work. Without her, we would never be in Nelayan, having dinner altogether.
We broke our fast at 7.23 p.m. and we ate and continued to eat even after prayed. There was a small prayer room provided and after we performed our prayers, we came back and eat. Haha ~ so many food to eat, so little time we had. I ate too much seafood, I got my stomach full.
The reason why my mom's family planned this dinner event and broke our fast together was to celebrate the family members who celebrated their birthday in late August and early September. My mother, my second eldest aunt, my elder cousins, my cousin's son ; they all celebrated their birthday in late August and early September. They didn't know that a suprise birthday party was planned.
My other cousin asked the waiters to clean our tables and asked those who didn't know to gather around one table. My mother didn't know about it and kept telling everyone to gather around. My cousin then brought in a huge chocolate ice cream cake with three candles on it and we surprised them by singing Happy Birthday song loudly. Everyone inside the restaurant seemed to have their eyes on our loud family. They blew the candle together and we laughed at how they didn't know a thing about it.
We shared the cake among everyone and had a great time. My elder sister who was sick before when she arrived became better after the great time we spent together. Everyone and everything seemed to be perfectly fine. We ate until we couldn't move and until we got sleepy.

We wore matching black tees that night - how sweet!
We took like thousand of pictures, but because my camera was out of battery, I used my mobile phones instead so the quality wasn't the best. At 9.15 p.m., we finally left the restaurant. We bid farewell to everyone outside the restaurant, kept reminding everyone to keep in touch and perhaps have another event together before my elder brother left alone, back to his house in Puchong, my elder sister, her husband and her two sons left and went shopping and my family (my parents and my younger sister) went back home.
It was a FUN night. It was unfair that I liked being with my mom's family more than I liked being with my dad's family, but it was true, my mom's family seemed to be more loud and cheerful. I loved to spend days with them. Cracking jokes, teasing each other, exchanging stories. We always have an annual event like bowling tournament and holiday trips.
Can't wait to have another gathering together.
