Day of Shoes.

Title: 신발의 날이.
Translation: Day of Shoes.

I was finally out with my family after six weeks of staying home; trying to recover from the surgery’s wound yesterday. I can’t actually believe it had already been six weeks since I underwent the surgery but still, it was kind of refreshing to know I could already take off the hideous special shoes and socks and off to wear my favorite shoes - sneakers.

My dad promised that he would buy me shoes (in which he meant a lot of shoes) if I could successfully went through the six weeks period and also, as my birthday gift. So after my painful physiotherapy sessions with Miss Tan (this person, aish ~ I suddenly have a sudden urge to just punch her each time I see her), we went to my dad’s office, The Mall. He had worked there ever since my younger sister and I weren't even born and his office is amazingly on the 13th floor of a shopping mall.

My mom went into Parkson, and we checked on the handbags (an interest in which I had started to grow in which once I used to resent ㅋㅋㅋ) and I found an f.Timber handbag which is I categorized as the coolest funky handbag ever and it comes in black. It wasn’t actually expensive, as it was just RM50.00 but I was too stingy even for my own satisfaction so I just told myself not to buy it.

We when to Bata Shoes next and looked for the perfect sneakers since the doctor advised me that I wore covered shoes for 2 or 3 months in order to keep my feet protected during long-distant walking. I found one, it’s a North Star’s black sneakers with silver lines, but there wasn’t my size available. So we decided tp leave The Mall in order to find another Bata Shoes shop and buy the same exact shoes. But before we left, we ate lunch at Medan Hang Tuah, a food court in The Mall in which I learnt, had been my dad’s canteen since he started working at that building. Wow ~ the place is really legendary and the hawkers are really friendly; all of them knew my dad.

My dad later on drove us to Alpha Angle, Wangsa Maju in which we know that there was a Bata Shoes shop over there. We headed for the Bata Shoes shop and I saw the same shoes on the display rack and fortunately, there was my size there so I ended up buying it. My younger sister bought a pair of canvas shoes for her school’s session next year as well. Then, we took some walk around, bought a pair of new headbands and hairbands for the upcoming trip to Langkawi before we came across another shoe shop.

My mom bought her working shoes and a pair of sandals for the trip while my dad bought a pair of new shoes in which he said could be worn during work or during holiday. Okay, my dad is really weird. I came across the display rack of B.U.M Equipment sneakers and I found one that totally stroke me like a cupid’s arrow.

It was black with yellow star and lines.

How awesome was that? I totally begged my dad to buy me another pair while he was considering buying one for my younger sister who had her sneakers stolen by a burglar who came into our house a few months ago. He immediately said yes and bought each of us a pair; mine was the black with yellow lining while my younger sister bought a brown sneakers with white linings. In the end all of us bought new pair of shoes!

So I owned two new sneakers - both are black and both are lovely.

The not so lovely news when we came home was that my uncle from my dad’s side (his younger brother) who lives in Penang visited us and decided to spend a night at our house. I loved my uncle and my aunt because they were a very funny and talkative couple. But, I hated his three sons (all three of my cousin, all three of them are younger); they were rude and undisciplined, it hurt my head and my eyes just to see them using our TV and couches as if they were theirs. Thankfully they were already gone the next morning (today’s morning).

Background Music: Goodbye by NIA.
