20090822 The Beginning of Ramadhan

Wow ~ I can't believe Ramadhan have already started!
It felt like just yesterday I went through the whole month of fasting period while trying to study as hard as I could for my SPM last year. Gosh, who knew time fly so fast? It's already the first day of Ramadhan in Malaysia, 29 more days to go! It's only in August and yet we are already fasting.

Well, there's nothing extravaganza happening yet since today is only the beginning of the fasting month. Next week will be a school's holiday week so I am expecting a full schedule with my younger sister at home with me. She got so many things planned, even when the school's holiday was only for a week. It rain a lot lately too, so it won't be too hot during the day.

One thing unfortunate for me is that all of my high school's friends are away for studies, so we won't have a chance to go and "berbuka" together like we used to do before. Oh, I am so going to miss those precious moments together. Considering even in college I don't have Malay's friends, it seemed to be a lonely fasting month for me though.

My mom is already busy choosing the "kuih raya" recipe among her recipes because this year, my mom planned to bake our own cookies and cakes instead of buying it like how we did on previous years. Yeay ~ that is going to be very exciting! But that will be make two weeks from now, perhaps in the third week of Ramadhan.

It's already 4.12 p.m. here in Malaysia when I was writing this, and I swore my stomach was growling like crazy. Haha ~ I am taking this Ramadhan period as a chance for me to lose weight, like how I did lost 3 kilograms last year (and shamelessly gained back those 3 kilograms during the Aidilfitri month). I must lose some weight! Not that I am not confident with myself, but I just hate gaining so much fat!

Anyway, I want to wish everyone in this whole wide world, Happy Ramadhan, happy fasting to all the Muslims around thew world, no matter where you are. To my friends, good luck in fasting in a different place, considering they are all studying far away from Selangor (some are even in Kedah and Pulau Pinang) and to my family members, we should gather together and "berbuka" together often!

Happy Ramadhan.
Selamat Menyambut Bulan Ramadhan al-Mubarak.
Good luck in fasting for 30 days.
