In case no one actually check FT Island's schedule regularly (like I did), FT Island actually did a recording for SBS 김정은의 초콜릿 (Kim Jeongeun's Chocolate) several weeks ago and the full show finally aired today.
As much as I loved FT Island to appear on weekly main music shows, I loved having the boys apppearing on live music shows more, just like SBS 김정은의 초콜릿 or KBS Yoo Heeyeol's Sketchbook because shows like these gives our precious boys to play their instruments live! You heard me right, they played 바래 live for the first time on SBS 김정은의 초콜릿 and I totally loved it! At last, I had the chance to prove that FT Island DO play their instruments live! Another good news, this time, they have the chance to sing 바래 in its full version, unlike how it was badly chopped and shortened on other weekly regular music shows. Yeah, I am still a bit sore about MBC Music Core's performance, too short! Seunghyun's second rap part, gosh I was too happy to write about it!
I stayed up so late to watch this show and I found it worth my time. FT Island performed 바래 live perfectly, just like how I expected them to be. With the matching red pants back on stage, I adored how lively the boys looked when they were playing live. Back with their red pants, the boys were looking fine. This time, the guitars and bass were plugged, and you can hear how different the music sounded once it was live. The guitar riffs sounded different, the drums sounded different. It sounded very fresh when played live, and it gave a different vibe to the whole song. Hongki's voice was almost flawless, he almost hit those high notes but he did very well. My mom was impressed by how good the boys are when they were playing live. 바래 doesn't sound like their previous songs so when I heard it live, I was totally excited. They were really good, thus throwing away those negative comments about how the four boys of FT Island didn't do their job unlike how Hongki sang in their performances. I could totally tell Minhwan played the drums live when he put his headphone on, because it helped him to get the beat right. Jonghoon's guitar solo, it sounded so great! I totally loved his part in this live performance. The goat bassist, Jaejin, did great too and Seunghyun, I don't know how I should express how proud I am to see my favorite 17 years-old guitarist rapped and played his guitar in the same time on stage!
Forgive me if I made a mistake, but this show marked the first live music show which Seunghyun appeared, right? Other than them playing a short live version of 나쁜여자야 in a KBS show several months before. He looked comfortable, and not to mention HOT (OMG, this noona is getting pervy again). This also proved that Seunghyun is really talented, not just another pretty face.
On the other note, FT Island also performed an English rock song, Song 2 by the band Blur. OMG ~ it felt like ages since I last heard this English song (since my elder brother used to hear songs like this in his 20's) and I am totally loving FT Island performing songs like this.

Is it me, or is it Honglish (a mixed word of Hongstar and English making it sounded Honglish) is getting better nowadays? It brought back the memories when he sang the rock song on First Island Live Concert and it hurt my eardrums to hear him screamed rather than singing. His Honglish is getting SO MUCH better! The vocal is really superb, it got my mom impressed again (and me too) but he can work with his pronounciation better next time. He did great, with some minor errors with the pronounciation here and there but overall, he did great. The guitar riffs for this song sounded so awesome and it is just now that I felt like FT Island is indeed a rock band, instead of just an idol band. The bass sounded awesome too, so loud and clear! The companying music is perfect, thanked to the four boys playing the instruments perfectly. During the beginning of the song, we have a glimpse of Minhwan and his drums but that's not the point. Look at Hwan's muscles, OMG, he didn't look like a magnae with his mucles all built up! Strong Hwan! No wonder why his hyungs are scared of him. Hongki was so energetic in this performance. He jumped here and there, and the crowds loved it too, see those smiling noonas. Good job boys!
Now, who said my FT Island can't play and sing live? Go and shoot yourselves on your head you morons (forgive me for my word here) because these five boys aren't considered as a band if they couldn't play live on the first place! They got my mom who is their 53 years-old ajumma-fan smiled and sang alone too!
The conversation cut could be found here. Since the other boys had already appeared on this show before, Seunghyun the new member is the first to introduced himself. When he mentioned that he was actually 17 (18 in the Korean age), audiences went wild, probably couldn't believe that the tallest member of FT Island is also actually at the same age as the magnae and he even joked by calling Kim Jeongeun, the host, as 이모 which meant "aunt" in Korean. The host said that he was the second youngest in the band and Seunghyun mentioned that when he joined FT Island, he helped the average age range of the band to decrease and increased the average height range of the band, causing laughter (my baby is being cute and dorky). Then they started to talk about dreamgirl and dreamboy and etc. since I don't really get that part. Sangmi talked too long about stuffs, skipping that part too. Then their conversation turned from bubbly and cheerful into the topic of horror stories, and the ambience and the background music changed.
So our Hongki started his own horror story first after they got panicked with the scary ambience, Minhwan looking around, as well as the others. The stage looked terrifying all over sudden. I don't really get what Hongki's story was about though. I am still blurred about it. While talking, all of them heard a door being opened (creepy) and everyone got their heads turned. Everyone looked so uneasy (including me) because of the background effect sounds (curse you background music people!). But they ended up laughing over something Hongki said and continued with Sangmi's horror story. Focused on Hongki and Jaejin during Sangmi's story, they were freaking out or were they playing around? Loved Hongki's expression! Now here came the best part. They didn't actually realize a man in white hanbok and long wig, supposedly to be the 미녀귀신 or the "Virgin Ghost" was standing behind Jonghoon until he scared them, it made Hongki so surprised, he jumped off his seat and rolled on the floor while the host and Sangmi screamed (girls, of course they'll scream when they were scared). The four other boys were scared too (even I was surprised). They were all horrified for a while but that man seemed to be a joke, showing off his long wig and told everyone he was a magic ghost instead. Later, after the funny man in wig left, Seunghyun and Jonghoon tried to tell something to Sangmi, but she ended up running away, scared. It seemed that the man left a fake snake behind Sangmi and Jonghoon and Seunghyun took it away from her or was it Seunghyun, Jonghoon and Minhwan trying to prank Sangmi? If they did, they surely got that noona to be scared. Then they started playing with fake horrifying stuffs. Anyone noticed Minhwan put on the popped out eye-balls glasses? So funny!
I'd been replaying the surprising ghost scene for tenth times right now. Still can't get over watching Hongki rolled on the floor while Sangmi was too shocked. Jonghoon grabbed to Seunghyun after the surprised, leaving Minhwan to be surprised alone. So damn funny!
FT Island will be recording KBS Yoo Heeyeol's Sketchbook on 4rd August so I am expecting them to play live perfectly again for that show, since I could actually watch it on KBS World later on, with subs. Yoo Heeyeol is always fun to talk to, and I loved his show so having my favorite band boys on his show will be a blast! Can't wait until it airs!
